It was supposed to be a nice evening of video games and Chinese food at
Justin's (Trevor Adolf), but when one of his friends (Ryan Jamison) almost
chokes to death on his fortune cookie ... well, that kills the party a
little. But the bigger problem is, this was anticipated in his fortune
cookie message (including the actual time), and all friends present got
less-than-cryptic messages relating to them ... expecially Justin, who, it
is predicted, will be responsible for a case of manslaughter. It doesn't
say anymore, neither whether he's actually the active part in that story
or whether it can be prevented - but he soon finds himself doing anything
in his power to prevent ... what he's not even sure how to prevent ... Well,
we've probably all wondered what the world would be like if fortune cookie
prophecies made any sense and did come true ... well, most probably, no we
didn't, but with plenty of wit, invention and a certain predilection for
the macabre, this short tries to answer the question anyways - and goes
about it rather hilariously thanks to its light-footed approach, it's
genuine knack for comedy (that seems to come natural with the young
firector), and its cast that's really in on the joke. In all, a very
amusing little film!
