Robin's (Richard O'Sullivan) best friend Larry (Doug Fisher) has to
somehow get rid of a batch of puppies, so he lumbers everybody he knows
with one, including Robin. Thing is, Robin's landlords, the Ropers (Yootha
Joyce, Brian Murphy) don't allow dogs in the appartment, so Robin &
his flatmates Chrissy (Paula Wilcox) & Jo (Sally Thomsett) have to go
out of their way to hide the little puppy from the Ropers ... until Mrs
Roper finds the dog, thinks its masterless & spontaneously adopts it -
which might be the best solution for everyone, until Robin finds out he
has confused his dog with someone else's (Michael Segal), who now stops by
to get his dog back ...
The story - as ever so often with Man about the House - is
sitcom staple, & doesn't sound in the least interesting, but a
cleverly written script and good, funny performances throughout make this
a joy to watch.
