Nick (Dayal) drags Justin (Leveille) to a party where they literally
know nobody, except from social media, just because they've received a
Facebook invite. Justin's less than sure about this and above all
questions the validity of the "maybe"-button ... and then he
finds a girl (Irene Shamas) who shares his views and who's as fed up with
social media as he is. But once Nick's passed out (as he usually does at
parties) Justin has to learn a shocking truth about the power of social
media ... A fun little story that starts out with a pointless
discussion about something even more pointless (the titular
"maybe"-button) and seemingly effortlessly but likeably
gradually shifts into sharp social media satire. This is all achieved by a
subtle directorial effort that borrows heavily (and fittingly) from
college party movies, and a pair of leads that are both likeable but
fallible in their own ways and thus the message's not hammered home but
delivered with enough subtlety to truly hit home.
