A screenwriter (Nicholas Michael Jacobs) wants to write another movie
about his favourite creation, killer doll Genevieve (voiced by Alan
Maxson) - but for the life of it, he fails to come up with an original
story. Then he receives a package - and inside is the actual Genevieve,
which of course inspires him to write a story about a writer receiving his
creation, a killer doll, in the mail, with chaos ensuing. But of course,
life soon imitates art, with Genevieve coming to life and trying to kill
our hero - and whatever he tries, be it knife, tumble drier of microwave,
he has quite simply made his creation too strong to be killed ... I
think the best way to describe this movie is low-fi horror - which is
meant as an utter compliment, as this movie doesn't focus on effects and
spectacle, not even on lavish camerawork, to pack its punch, but instead
relies on classic suspense, enriched with plenty of macabre details, to
bring its story across in the most effective way, making this pretty cool
genre entertainment. If this has at all gotten you interested,
this movie will be released August 13th 2021 at https://vimeo.com/ondemand/genevieve
