He's (Douglas Reese) a drifter with no place to go, really, so taking a
nap on a graveyard isn't at all an unusual thing to do for him. She (Tesla
Renée Gray) is a regular visitor to same graveyard, so when she finds him
sleeping on the premises, she's at first outraged ... but soon takes a
liking to the young drifter and takes him home with her, feeds him, pretty
much forces him to take a shower, and tells him all sorts of nice things
... but in a way that really freak him out, so much so that eventually, he
decides to take a leave - but she's not readywith him by a longshot ... Eli's
a fun little movie that at first starts out as some absurd comedy but very
gradually takes a turn more and more towards the dark side, including a
gruesome finale - and this lends itself to the director's trademark long
takes and attention to silences between the lines rather well. Plus both
actors fill their roles really well and have this awkward chemistry needed
for a weird movie like this. Well worth a look.
