Spring-Heeled Jack

To pass the time at an alcohol-fueled Halloween party, a bunch of kids
start telling a bunch of scary stories:
- There's the one about the babysitter (Christina Klein) who's told
the kids she's looking after are afraid of clowns. She wonders though
why is there a clown statue in the living room of the kids' very house
- well, unless ...
- A bunch of "well-respected citizens" have killed a man for
some Satanic rites - not banking on the fact that the dead man might
return ...
- Yound David (Brooks Robinson) is way to fond of destroying
scarecrows to not feel the wrath of a scarecrow eventually ...
- Two trick-or-treaters listen in on a guy trying to torture his
girlfriend to death, and scram - not knowing that they miss something
much more sinister ...
- The trick-or-treaters from last story try to hitch a ride home from
a bunch of no-good teens - who "persuade" them to break into
the house of a proven murderer (Allen O'Reilly) as sort of payment ...
but when they do, they find the house's inhabitated by something worse
than a mere murderer ...
Thing is, the stories are all somehow connected, and all feature
Spring-Heeled Jack in one way or another, but what's even more worrying -
the stories are not things from the past but have happened only earlier
the very night, and their killers are still on the prowl ...

Creature Feature might not be the most original film around per
se - in fact, while it does pack quite a few surprises, it stays safely
within genre boundaries ... and that in fact makes it the perfect party
movie for Halloween, you get plenty of genre entertainment from all
corners of horror, the whole thing's very comicbook-like in both its
narrative and stylistic approach, it doesn't take itself too seriously,
there's enough gore and nudity in there to really cover these bases, and
the cast having a jolly good time on set clearly translates into the film.
Really the film to watch for some dark holiday fun!
