Debra (Mary C. Ferrara) is just a terribly unhappy woman, she hates her
job, is pretty much afraid of everyone, thus has no friends, she's
obsessed with cleaning her hands after touching pretty much anything, and
all of this might have to do wtihbad experiences in her past, including
abuse. She sits alone in her office, and that's alright with her - until a
colleague, Ross (Davidson Calfee), is assigned to the desk opposite hers.
Now Debra has no idea how to deal with this, and it's not made any easier
by the fact that Ross is just so ... terribly nice, really. So it's rather
unsurprising that when he comes to visit her at her house one day, it
doesn't end pretty ... Now one thing's for sure, Cold is
a movie that has a lot of heart, and that's because its script shows
genuine sympathy for its main character, and Mary C. Ferrara carries the
role quite beautifully. And that said, the movie just doesn't properly
click. Basically it's a bit lacking in build-up while direction and
cinematography are rather on the dull side and thus fail to develop the
movie to full potential. Still, worth a look, just far from perfect.
