When he accompanies his friend Luis (David Andro) to open mic night at
a music and poetry club, Gregory (Joseph Fuoco) rediscovers his passion
for the art, which so far he has supressed other than strumming on the
guitar for a bit. But as he decides to write a song and eventually present
it to the world, he has to go through a lot of emotional baggage first,
has to go through a lot of emotinal ups and downs, to a point where his
wife (Constance Reshey) and son (Mahdi Shaji) start to worry - but it
might just be worth it in the end ...
A very nice little movie that manages to be touching ...
because it doesn't try too hard to be. Instead it combines different
motives - the creative process, a (late) midlife crisis, finding oneself
and one's passion - in a well-structured and told story, carried by a very
competent cast and a subtle direction. Well worth a look!
