Once upon a time, Emma (Laysla De Oliveira) and Drew (Giacomo
Gianniotti) went to high school together - but hardly changed glances let
alone words back when. Still, they recognize each other when they cross
paths at a bar years later, have a talk and notice they're actually really
into each other - there's just one problem, they're both in happy
relationships, she's together with Alex (Raymond Ablack), who is about to
leave for Japan for a years' apprenticeship though, and he has just moved
into a house with Claire (Rachel Skarsten). Still, they meet again, and
that meeting almost goes too far, so they break it off - but it seems they
can't stay away from each other, and eventually they have an affair. Thing
is, neither is sure if that's what they really want ... A very
nice drama that works because it tells its story in a light-footed way and
doesn't try to hammer home some message or lose itself in terrible
over-generalisations. Instead it relies on an intimate screenplay, carried
by two multi-layered and relatable characters who are easy to root for in
all their fallability - which is of course also thanks to a solid ensemble
cast and a subtle yet moody direction that gives its characters enough
space to develop, all of which helps making this a pretty good watch.
