Several girls have gone missing in a remote area of backwoods, USA, but
of course, farmer Ned (Russell Hackett) wouldn't know anything about it,
and why should he? All he does on his land is searching for the treasure
his granddad has buried (maybe at least) many moons ago. But then, Ned
witnesses a UFO landing near his place, and even sees his neighbour (Keith
Martire) emerging from that UFO in some kind of trance, as if he'd been
abducted and his memory had been erased. But knowing nobody in town would
believe his story, Ned decides to go UFO hunting on his own. Thing is, the
motives he has for "befriending" the UFO's resident alien
(Patrick Boyer) might not be as friendly as one might expect ... Storywise,
this movie's pretty much Twilight
Zone with a twist - well, an unusual and dark twist that is.
Basically, this is a short that's really good at feeding genre
expectations, telling a rather common genre story in a very engaging way -
to in the ending turn everything on its head ... and thanks to very solid
writing, direction and key performances, this comes across just
beautifully, and horror/sci-fi fans are bound to love it!
