We have talked about this before [click
here], but bring us up to speed: your upcoming movie Delusional
- in a few words, what is it about?
Delusional is set in a hospital and follows a young nurse named
Bridgette who has always tried to conceal her mental health issues. When
news breaks of a notorious serial killer on the loose, she must first
overcome her own troubles before taking on the psychopath. Quite a bit of time
has passed since we last talked about Delusional - so how has the
project evolved since? I feel as though my head is clearer
at this time. I've aged and matured a little since first forming the
project and know that I can craft a deeply interesting character piece
with the assistance of the talented crew. With Delusional being
described as a surreal psychological slasher - is the slasher genre as
such at all dear to you, and some of your genre favourites? And what do
you think will make your film stand out of the crowd? The
slasher genre has always been one of the most appealing to me. I've gotten
pickier over time, but there's still something fun about sitting down and
watching even the sleaziest entries. I've grown into more of a
thriller/drama fan, but of course, slashers are still dear to my heart as
they're what introduced me to the horror genre as a whole. No
good slasher movie without a few fun murders - anything you can tell us
yet about that aspect of your movie? Without giving too
much away, I will say that our killer has a weapon unlike you've ever
seen. One death will involve a very long, continuous shot covering various
areas of the location. A love letter of sorts to Argento's Tenebre.
Anything you can
tell us about your directorial approach to your story at hand yet? I
want to make this as realistic a story as I can while setting it in a
colorful, almost plastic wonderland. It's my job to pull the best
performances I can out of the actors, so being my feature directorial
debut, I will work the hardest that I can to assure everything falls in
line. If I can give a reference, I'd say the general approach for this
film is a cross between Dario Argento and the Coen Brothers. The beautiful
wonderland that the former creates, and the sharp rhythm of the latter
that never misses a beat. A
few words about your cast and crew, however tentative? I've
taken my time to assemble a crew that understands what I'm going for.
While we only have one actor (Lex Wilson) attached, he understands exactly
the tone we're going for and the ins-and-outs of his character. As
far as I know, you're currently running a fundraiser for Delusional
- so do talk about your campaign for a bit! I am! We've
raised 11% of the $4,000 goal as I write this. It's imperative to getting
this film made. It's a make it or break it opportunity and if we do not
reach the goal, there is a huge chance that the film will never be made.
After two years of hard work, it's time for this film to happen.

Once the
budget's in place, what's the schedule? And even if it might be waaay too
early to ask, any idea when and where the film might be released onto the
general public? Once the budget is in place, the next few
months will be spent finalizing cast, crew, locations, and also securing
insurance and permits. Once that is locked, we will begin shooting in the
winter and aim for a summer 2017 release. Any future project beyond Delusional?

I
have a few things in mind, particularly a short film. At this moment,
though, my focus is on making this film the best that it can be. Your/your
movie's website, Facebook, IndieGoGo, whatever else?

Anything
else you're dying to mention and I have merely forgotten to ask? Just
that this will be a wildly original ride that audiences will enjoy. It has
been my heart and soul for over two years now, and I'll do everything I
can to make sure that it's as frightening as it can be. Thanks
for the interview!
