Young state trooper Johnny (David Sharpe), his sister's (Charlotte Henry)
fiancé, state trooper Tom (Kane Richmond), & Johnny's little brother
daredevil Freddie (Frankie Darro) are all behind gangster's Spike (Carleton
Young) & Butch (Pat Gleason), who are carrying 40.000 Dollars worth of
gold, & somehow, Freddie even manages to relieve them of their gold ... but
when later Johnnie tries to apprehend them, he is shot dead ... Soon, respectable
gold merchant Flash Slavin (William Costello) is suspected to be behind the
gangsters, but not only has he enough cops on his payroll to remain above
suspicion, he also gives Spike & Butch waterproof alibis. Tom &
Freddie soon decide to fight Flash & companions on their own, & to that
end, Freddie - who is still in possession in the 40.000 Dollars worth of gold,
lures Flash, Spike & Butch into a trap, in Tom & Freddie's own garage,
too. It would even have worked, but then Endenberry (Frank Austin), Tom &
Freddie's cantankreous wheelchairbound tenant proves to be the real boss of
Flash Slavin's outfit & he soon turns the tables ... until
caricature-Italian peddler Tony (Frank Sarasino), a frequent guest to Tom &
Freddie's house, proves to be a federal agent & arrests all the baddies ... You
might not like stories about daredevil boys always staying one step or 2 ahead
of the police - & in fact neither do I - but apart from that rather lame
story device, Young Dynamite is a fast-moving, slick if cheaply made
crimethriller that does provide some fine if not terribly original
entertainment.
