Wing (Adam Pak) and Jon (Kenny Kwan) have been best friends in high school, but have since drifted apart, and while Jon has since become a successful low budget filmmaker, Wing nas still not found his footing in life. Now, 15 years after their graduation, they meet again in Wint's apartment, and the reunion couldn*t be more harmonious - until Wing mentions his high schbool sweetheart Amy (Selena Lee), who had broken up with him just before graduation and then had drunk sex with Jon at the graduation party - something Wing has never really come over. But when he brings it up now, he basically accuses Jon of having made her drunk and then raped her, and apparently there's a grain of truth to that, as Jon can*t convincingly deny it and ultimately sort of admits to it - which is exactly what Wing wanted, as he has recorded their whole conversation, and has called Amy over so that (in his words) she can find closure, too. Only Amy has a whole different view of things ...

A remake of the 2001 film by Richard Linklater (who also executive produced this one), Tape is a testament how much you can get out of three persons in one room doing little more than talking if the script has an engaging story, the díalogue is poignant, the characters relatable - and played by a first class cast -, and the directorial effort is dynamic enough and tension and suspense oriented. And in this movie, all of this falls together rather handsomely, resulting in a piece of pretty awesome entertainment.
