Actually Doctor Watson (Howard MArion Crawford) planned for himself and
Sherlock Holmes (Ronald Howard) to just go away on a few quiet days in the
country, with not one mystery to solve - but even on the train that's
going to take them to rural England, mystery awaits, when someone pulls
the emergency brake and a young boy, Paul (James Doran) goes mysteriously
missing. His gouverness (Roberta Haynes) thinks the boy has just run away
after a fight with his father, but Holmes immediately suspects something
more sinister, and before long he gets on the trail of Coco the Clown
(Billy Beck) who seems to have taken off with the boy, promising him a
life with the circus. Now that all seems a bit odd, and eventually, Holmes
finds out who's actually behind all of this, the boy's own uncle Cecil
(Duncan Elliott), who wants to get his hands on the boy's inheritance, so
he has hired the clown to assassinate him ... Will Sherlock Holmes arrive
in time to save the boy and capture the clown ?
That was a rethorical question, of course he will.
So-so episode, with a plot that's a little too far-fetched to remain
believable - but actually, that's part of the (modest) charm of the
episode.
