Scientists have found a perfect orb on the moon - which might be a
moonstone but might also be a Soviet spying device - and bring it back to
the moonbase to analyze it ... only to notice that it is an alien lifeform
that asks for political asylum.
At the same time, on the moonbase, an open conflict between General
Stocker (Alex Nicol) and Major Anderson (Tim O'Connor) resurfaces that
dates back to the war in Korea, when Stocker abandoned a village of Korean
fighters - and Anderson thinks it was out of cowardice. And when Stocker's
girlfriend Diana (Ruth Roman) hears about the story, she tends to share
Anderson's view too.
Then though, a big orb - obviously the same alien race as the moonstone
- threatens to destroy the moonbase if Stocker refuses to release the
moonstone ... and before long Stocker realizes he has to give up the
moonstone to save everyone else - and suddenly both Anderson and Diana
realize that this situation is exactly like the one in Korea, and Stocker
does the right thing in returning the moonstone now, just as he did in
Korea ...
Cheesy and utterly uninteresting story about moral dilemmas, told in a
science fiction context with the help of - of all things - balls that are
supposed to represent alien lifeforms ... come to think of it, this
description makes the episode sound way funnier than it actually is -
sorry.
Don't watch it.
