Jin (Wataru Nishida) runs two business that have a certain, shall we say,
overlap: One one hand he sells human flesh for consumption to the
privileged, on the other he sells snuff videos on the dark web.. Both
businesses run very well, but for both there is constant demand, so he has
hired thugs Doug (Jeff Alpert) and Bobby (Stafford Chavis) to see to the
supply - and they deliver in droves, not only are they good at killing
people for their flesh, they also have Russell (TJ Wren) under their
thumb, the leader of a apocalyptic cult that believes in extreme
punishment for sinners - extreme as in torture and execution -, they also
believe in cannibalism - all in the name of Jesus, apparently. And they
have no problem with being filmed during their brutal rituals, which are
supposed to eventually culminate in a cannibalistic feast followed by
group suicide. Now this of course should make a great video, one which
Doug and Bobby really get excited about - until they learn Jin is trying
to pull a fast one on them by having them poisoned during the group
suicide as well for purely commercial reasons ... Debbie Rochon plays a
homicidal dominatrix in an isolated standout scene, Lloyd Kaufman can be
seen as himself as one of Jin's customers. Now like the whole
series, Human Hibachi 3: The Last Supper is certainly not
a film for everyone, in fact even many horror fans might label it as too
brutal and nihilistic - and you certainly can't be weak of stomach to
enjoy it. That all said, all of this is also the attraction and charm of
this movie, it's unapologetically violent and gory (even if not every gore
scene is played out to full effect), it's very honest in its bluntness,
and while being free of post-modern irony, it's not a film to be taken
wholly seriously either, as the filmmakers don't even try to deliver
serious art, just good, gory entertainment - and that's sure to hit a
sweet spot with at least some horror fans.
