Ludwig (Tobias Mosig) plays Beethoven's Für Elise on the piano for his lover, ironically also called Elise (Marlene Fahnster) - who doesn't appreciate the obvious wordplay all that much. So Ludwig tells her a romantic story of how Beethoven composed the piece for a student, incidenly also called Elise - a story that totally fails to hit the mark with Elise - but at least Ludwig is man enough to admit the story was just made up. Thing is, Ludwig fails to realize how close his story was to the acttual state of his and Elise's relationship ...

Für Elise is a cleverly scripted relationship drama that's carried by poignant dialogue that really helps to flesh out the characters in the film's seven minute running time - which is of course also helped by a subtle directorial effort that gives the two actors the necessary space to breathe - and they do a very fine job.  So in all, definitely worth your while.
