Katy's
(Haley Heslip) has just moved back to her childhood home ... and it's not
long before the fire alarm goes off at exactly two o'clock in the morning
for a few nights in a row, enough to make her suspect that there's
something wrong with the fire alarm - thus she does the sensible things
and takes the batteries out ... and the damn things still goes off at 2
am! Thinking she might go crazy, Katy calls her psychiatrist - who just
never answers her calls. But when she tells her brother about her problem,
he tells her that reminds him about her imaginary friend Esther - which
gives Katy the chills, but now she's determined to find out if with her,
Esther has also come back to the house ... but does
she even want to find out? A really nice horror miniature that
relies heavily on suspense and atmosphere, and while not going too deeply
into explanations or any such it gets the most out of what isn't said but
only alluded at thanks to a clever and cleverly constructed screenplay.
And Haley Heslip as the only on-screen actress delivers a strong and
relatable performance, sure helping in making this a pretty cool piece of
horror. And
if this has at all gotten you interested, you can watch Esther
right here J
