Nina
(Jada Jay)i is currently starting her new job at Manny's (Ethan Vaughan) -
and while Manny might be a might seem like a coked up idiot, his scheme is
ingenious, he makes his girls into adult influencers at the internet then
rents them out to johns rich enough to be able to afford nights with
"celebrities". And while his girls are keeping their clients distracted in
the bedroom, Manny's gang empties their houses. Unfortunately, Manny is
also a hopeless gambler, and eventually he owes a fortune to crime kingpin
Red (Miles Stoner), so much so that Red eventually takes over Manny's
organisation. And while Manny treated everyone like family, Red, a more
traditional gangster type, is much less inclined to do so. In an at
first seemingly unrelated story, Victoria (April Hartman) and KJeremy (Joe
Walker) have lost their son Sammy. but Jeremy has dabbled into dark magic
to brng his soul back - inside of a ca,cprderr. Thing is, while alive
Sammy was a homicidal maniac. And now he's come back to life of sorts, he
finds a way to continue his killing spree, and Jeremy helps him even. When
Victoria hears about this new killing spree, she concludes rather quiickly
this must be Sammy's doing - and does everything in her power to track her
husband down. And here's where the two stories converge, for whatever
reason (it's never properly explained), Sammy primarily kills the girls
and personnel of Manny's organisation ... Writer/director Joseph Herrara
himself has a small role as Manny's organisation's go-to photographer.
Now admittedly, it takes a lot of suspension of disbelief to accept a
serialkiller living inside an old camcorder. but if you can swallow the
concept, you'll find yourself well-entertained as this is a surprisingly
light-footed horror movie despite its high body count that at times even
borders comedy and that for a change doesn't treat sexworkers in a
judgmental and/or stereotypical way but shows proper empathy. And a
competent cast and swift narrative pace also help to make this a pretty
enjoyable if slightly absurd slasher.
