Models Raquel (Gigi Gustin) and June (Branca Jade Montalvo) are on their way to a photo shoot in the desert when their car breaks down. They go on by foot, find an abandoned mine and decide to have a break in the mine's shade- Only, the mine is the hunting ground of a group of violent killers (Bishop Ali Stevens, Jed Bowen, Andreas Robens, Alex Dundas, Mark Justice) who soon enough have killed June and made Raquel their prisoner - whom they keep in a nearby ghost town, next to the mutilated body of their friend. Meanwhile photographer Jordy (Adam Bucci), his team (Robert Felsted jr, Ben Kaplan, Mark Justice) and his models Roxy (Adriane McLean) and Sumshine (Sarah French) soon grow tired enough of waiting and to shoot without Raquel and June. On their way home they come across above ghost town and decide to stop there to shoot some extra pictures - and meet good-natured Mama Birdy (Dazelle Yvette), who owns the place but invites them to shoot as much as they want, as long as they don't cross the street that runs through the ghost town. Of course, they all cross the street eventually, and those who don't on their own accord are sent to the other side by Mama Birdy, and of course above killers wait on the other side for them to slaughter them all brutally. Now that's bad enough, what's worse is that our heroes have been lured to the ghost town by one of their own working for Mama Birdy ...

If you're at all into grindhouse horror from the 1970's - and think Texas Chainsaw Massacre or The Hills Have Eyes here - then this film is for you, a rather relentless piece of survival horror, with hot girls, grotesque killers and gruesome killings. And what makes this film is that it doesn't try to give the genre an update, a post-modern reinterpretation or the spoof treament, this is a film that is unrelenting and goes right for the jugular, being rich on suspense, jump scares and outbursts of violence. And a stylish direction that goes beyond just aping uts 1970s blueprint, and a very solid cast only help making this a really cool genre ride.

Brute 1976 will have its premiere at the Laemmle Glendale in Los Angeles, CA, on August 26th, 2025.
