The men of the Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Wheatly) are after the serf
Guy (Michel Brill), simply because he can read and write - which is
illegal for serfs. So Guy hides out in a monastery, which is quite
fitting, since he always wanted to become a monk and wanted to copy books
for the rest of his life. Soon, he takes his vows, too. But then, the
Sheriff arrests Guy's identical brother David (also Michael Brill) to lure
Guy out into the open. Now Guy turns to Robin Hood (Richard Greene) and
Friar Tuck (Alexander Gauge) for help, and they find a way to replace
David with Guy in the Sheriff's prison, and Guy is to only reveal huis
true identity at DAvid's trial. The idea behind it is that as a monk, Guy
falls under the church's jurisdiction, and thus, his monastery's abbott
(A.J.Brown) has no problems breaking him free. Of course, the Sheriff
sends two assassins after Guy, but that's where Robin Hood steps in ... Mediocre
episode: Rather far-fetched in plot, but at the same time rather
well-played by all of the involved.
