Unfortunately the baddies know a few tricks of their own, with <i>respected</i> businessman Tower a perfect mole with Hickok's outfit - and before you know it, our trio of villains have their hands on the gold, and even have Hickok arrested for stealing it ... and it seems as if everything speaks against Hickok.</p> <p>Then though the war is suddenly over, and the baddies want to make off to California with their gold - and Hickok is freed by his trusted friends Gabby (Gabby Hayes) and Calamity Jane (Sally Payne), and of course, in the end, they can not only retrieve the gold and bring the criminals to justice, Hickok can also finally take some time out to marry his sweetheart ...</p> <p> </p> <p>Singing cowboy Roy Rogers playing legendary Westerner <i>Wild</i> Bill Hickok might be a bit of a stretch, especially when you see Wild Bill serenading his sweetheart, perfectly shaved, groomed and dressed. But that aside, <b>Young Bill Hickok</b> is not a bad Western, it's full of action, shoot-outs and massive horse-riding.
