Witch Ivana (Debbie Rochon) wants to take over the world with her horde
of zombies ... problem is, her zombies start to rot away and fall apart
before the job's even half done. So she resurrects a serialkiller (Chad
Baker) to get her some fresh corpses to resurrect ... The Church, or
rather a special arm of the Church, are mighty worried about Ivana's
plans, so they send out their "Watcher" Wilder (Mark Hall) to
find the last "Witchstalker" ... and Wilder is ultimately able
to identify her as Jerica (Sophie Chic) because she survives all the
slasher clichés to get oneself killed by a serialkiller and is thus ready
for the job - plus she has a freaky birthmark and half of the Amulet of
Light of course. Ah yeah, the Amulet of Light: If the two halves are
joined together, the amulet will become an all-mighty weapon that can be
used for good or evil - and of course, Ivana wants it. As mentioned, one
half is with Jerica, the other with ... Jerica's mother Jem (also Debbie
Rochon), the last witchstalker before Jerica, who has gone missing ages
ago and has been thought dead, but who has actually spent her time hiding
(and fighting zombies) in the dead zone so her daughter won't be dragged
into this. Now Jerica and Wilder are off to the dead zone themselves to
find Jem and the second half of the amulet to rid the world of Ivana ...
but Ivana is hot on their heels, figuring if she can somehow trick the
others and snatch the amulet, it will speed up her plans to conquer the
world immensely ... If you're thinking that sounds a tad silly
and is a bit overly cliché riddled ... you're totally right - but that's
exactly the point of the movie, it's sooo filled with clichés its totally
over the top but lovingly pokes fun at them, even addresses some of them
by name in the course of the proceedings. This all results in a rather
hilarious and actually pretty fast-moving comicbook-like genre flick that
really should get a few chuckles out of general audiences and genre fans
alike, and might also make a perfect party movie.
