And that said, everybody expects Tobin to win this year's <i>Golden World Wine Award</i>, as  judged by celebrated sommelier Winston Graham (Vernon Welles). So Maverick, envious of Tobin's success, bribes the wine tasting's host Chelsea (Toni Romano), former girlfriend and present arch enemy of Winston, to sabotage Tobin's chances for success ...</p> <p>In an at first unrelated story, Tobin's brother Terry (Terry Shumrick) tries to rope Tobin into doing a reality show about his life as a renowned winemaker, and though Tobin isn't really interested as his winery's successful enough to not need any extra publicity, he's also a sucker for his little brother's ideas, even if he's well aware of that they're not always particularly good - or even mediocre. And this time seems to be no exception as Terry, trying to cut corners where he can, presents Tobin with a skeletal crew (Duffy Hudson, Heidi Appe, Claie Borders, Travis Hancock) of mildly talented egomaniacs - to chaotic results ...</p> <p> </p> <p>Now not all is great about <b>Wine Thief</b>, the third act is a bit underwhelming and the ending is a bit too wholesome - but that's not to say that the film isn't also dead funny most of the time, with many an over-the-top character to carry the comedy, which never drifts off into the moronic though.
