Young Alistair has been looking forward to his high school's Halloween
party for quite some time now - to find it more fun than spooky, with no
other costumes leveling up to his elaborate mummy disguise ... or even
trying, really, because what's scary about a cowboy or a mermaid? So he
flees the party into the night, to ultimately being taught the true
meaning of Halloween ... Charming is probably the best way to
describe this, a beautifully illustrated, sparingly but all the more
impressively animated film set to nicely flowing (yet not at all
simplistic) poetry that's rich on atmosphere and really oozes the
creepiness that's identified with the holiday. Now those into Halloween
will probably find themselves into this short, but it's really a film
intended to everyone - and one's likely to respond if one's at least a
little with the dark side of one's soul ...
