A young girl (Aila June Lemond) is a bit afraid going to sleep on her
own, but mother (Jill Kathryn Lemond) has the perfect remedy for that - an
elf puppet for the girl's shelf. Problem solved? Yep - well, until the elf
puppet develops a mind of its own ... This is not a full-blown
movie but a really lovely miniature that takes something that's pretty
much a horror standard and pretty much slims it down to it's final effect
- and while not brilliant in storytelling (for lack of much of a story of
course), it does really nail the final shock and knows how to deliver,
when to cut off, and how to leave the audience with the subconscious urge
to continue the story in their own mind - with unsettling effect of
course. Pretty much the film that might keep you from falling to sleep
this night ...
