After her father has committed suicide while she was on the phone with
him no less, Kelli (Erica Logsdon) has taken it upon herself to sort out
his stuff, despite the understandable trauma, and her boyfriend Mark
(Joseph Sanchez) has her back the best he can, as does her brother Jimmy
(Dillon Lau). But they're not prepared to find a young woman, Lucinda
(Silvia Dionicio), in father's bedroom, and even less to her claim that
she lives there - but at the same time she can't really prove her wrong.
Thing is, Lucinda isn't quite as human as she appears to be, and that's
not necessarily a good thing ...
A very creepy moodpiece that above all else shows how little
spectacle is needed to freak out one's audience. It's really an
atmospheric piece that even manages to hide much of the narrative between
the lines, as much of the film's backstory is only hinted at - and the
less things are spelt out the better they translate to the audience, are
actually relatable in this one. And some grounded performances sure help
to make this a fittingly disturbing genre piece.
