- Succubus: A woman (Kat Herlo) finds some egg-like arifact
during excavations in the orient that, when broken open, infects her
with something. When back home, the woman feels the unquenchable urge
to seduce all the men whose paths she crosses, no matter if they have
girlfriends or not. But she has not just turned into a nymphomaniac
but something much more sinister ...
- My Undead Girlfriend: A man (Stefan Jonason) is so in love
with his wife-to-be (Camilla Löjdström) that he's more than
determined to keep their last pre-marital appointment with her parents
(Ralf Beck, Barbro Höglund) - even though wifey has turned into a
zombie just the other day ...
- Mother Knows Best: Carl's (Kim Sønderholm) mother (Peg Thon)
was of the overprotective kind, to an extent that no woman was ever
good enough for her son. Mum has died ages ago, but her influence has
remained with Carl - to horrible results ...
- A Woman Scorned: Holly (Mehrnaz Bagheri Beiknejad) is a woman
who doesn't like to be ditched ... but unfortunately she's also a
homicidal psychopath ...
- Genital Genocide: Strapped to the electric chair, a killer
with a predilection for for lesbians makes sure everyone in the
"audience" of his execution feels as uneasy as he does by
recounting his gruesome crimes in quite some detail ...
Though there is a common theme to all the segments of Sinister
Visons - the relationship between men and women, primarily (but not
exclusively) sexual relations - the stories as such are all over the
place, from the ironic to the shockingly serious, from the (intentionally
and enjoyably) trashy to the well thought through. And that, really, is
what makes the movie work, while their theme strings the episodes
together, you never quite know what to expect. Within the films, the best
episodes are those that follow the trradition of classic short stories
(especially Mother Knows Best and A Woman Scorned) or play
up the irony of their plot (My Undead Girlfriend), but other than
in way too many anthologies, there is no real letdown in this one and it
remains entertaining throughout. Recommended.
