The Ross brothers Roman (Frank Grillo) and Ricci (Matt Passmore) are
considered philanthropists by the general public, what with their slew of
inventions to help the disabled. But of course, their philanthropism only
goes so far, and presently they're planning a terrorist attack on the
Hoover Dam that might make them a heap of money. The CIA of course have
long learned about this and have one of their agents, Subir Shen (Kolten
Jensen) infiltrate the organisation - but Subir got caless. and killed for
it, too. And since he was of Bangladeshi origin, it's decided to replace
him with an actual agent from the Bangladeshi secret service, Masud Rana
(Abm Sumon), who, accompanied by mystery woman Devi (Sakshi Pradhan), gets
into one fistfight, shoot-out and chase after another to prevent the worst
from happening ... The character Masud Rana was
created in 1966 by Bangladeshi writer Qazi Anwar Husain, as a very direct
response to the success of James
Bond, so it shouldn't come as a surprise at all that this
movie (not the first one based on the Masud Rana novels by
the way) has a certain James
Bond-feel to it. And despite it not nearly being at the same
level as its big brother, budget-wise, MR-9: Do or Die really
delivers, there's plenty of action, all well executed, the pacing is
almost frantic, as the material demands, and as a whole, the film hardly
puts a food wrong, making this one pretty amazing spy thriller
entertainment for sure.
