Russ (Hunter G. Williams) and Marcus (Edin Gali) are two high-flying
and heavy partying Hollywood producers, and it really seems the world is
their oyster - until Russ falls in love with what essentially was supposed
to be a one-night-stand. Now in a way that's not too bad, because the lady
in question, April (Tessa Farrell) loves him back. But then Russ finds out
she's actually a hooker, and something insde him breaks. And even though
she insists her love is real, and she has given up doing tricks for him,
he can never forget, and even when they come together again, it's only so
long before his misgivings get the better of him, and it seems they're in
a constant cyle of make-up and break-up. Meanwhile, the latest movie set
Russ and Marcus run isn't going to great, and they're on the verge of
losing the contract, and yet Marcus thinks it's a good idea to gamble all
his money away - and suddenly owe a small fortune to mob boss Vic (Arber
Mehmeti), who eventually comes to collect, and Russ sees himself forced to
pay up lest Vic be killed - and that's just after he caught April being a
sex slave at an erotic masque - and that all pretty much sets an ever
accelerating downward spiral into motion ... At the same time
very dark Hollywood satire and gritty drama, The Madness Within is
a film that might not exactly stay away from Hollywood clichés (which it
candidly admits even), but puts them together to tell a compelling story
that's made all the more close-to-home as the film doesn't use hyperboles
and formulaic storytelling but manages to find subtlety between all the
sex, drugs and violence that make the film. And of course, an able
ensemble helps bringing the film to full bloom as an entertaining yet
disturbing trip to tinsel town. If
this has at all gotten you interested, you can find this movie on
