Jenny (Vanessa Esperanza) is a rather attractive young woman - who has
really had it up to here with today's dating scene, having had her heart
broken a few times too often to really trust men (and even women) anymore.
So for her latest love Brad (David Blanco) she has found a very unique way
to show him how serious she takes their relationship (and that way
suggesting him to do the same): By inviting him to a Valentine's Day
dinner with all her exes. And that's not even the awkward part yet -
because her exes might not be all that alive anymore ... To
really appreciate this film, it probably helps having a very dark sense of
humour - because then it's great, it's wickedly funny without relying on
any actual punchlines, but it's also very macabre, maybe even morbid. All
that's of course thanks to the script but also a directorial effort that
really puts an emphasis on atmosphere over laughs, and an intentionally
rather deranged central performance by Vanessa Esperanza. In all, great
fun - but darkly so!
