After a twentysomething's parents have gone away over the holidays, he
invites his male friends over for a few days of partying, with plenty of
alcohol, dope and coke. The result is them all horsing around, playing
(often gay-themed) pranks on one another, and of course playing an endless
game of alpha dog - which only intensifies when a few girls stop by. This
also leads to quite a bit of (literal) fucking around, and an almost-rape.
However the longer the guys hang around with one another, acting sexually
immature as can be, the more tensions arise between a self-declared
homophobe, a closet gay guy and a secret bisexual ... Now it
might not be everyone's thing watching young men be immature with one
another (including quite a bit of nudity), but that said, the film's also
very realistic in its depiction of just that, with all its gay jokes,
alpha dog games, and overly shown off homophobia to hide eventual
homosexual tendencies from one's mates. And very natural performances by
all involved really make all of this relatable, as does the subtle
direction that gives the characters space to unfold.. And the result is a
very tight drama with an ending that sure enough comes as a shock.
