A young woman (Gilayna Santos) has virtually reached the end of the
line, her alcoholic mother (Debra Lamb [Debra
Lamb interview - click here]) verbally abuses her and tells her
how she wished to have her aborted back when, she's bullied and
slut-shamed at school, even random strangers in the street throw insults
at her, and only a man in black (Keith Rajala) can't stop smiling at her -
but the solution he offers for all her problems might not be a good
solution at all ... A quite fascinating borderline surreal
movie that gets deep into the head of a woman suffering from depression -
and it works quite nicely, too, thanks to a inventively structured narrative
that really gets one into the head of the film's protagonist without
getting told much in terms of background story, a nice pace that keeps
things floating about, and a very able ensemble cast. Totally worth a
watch!
