Young and innocent Carol (Linda Blair) is thrown into a particularly
rough women's prison, where the warden (John Vernon) and chief Taylor
(Stella Stevens) actually compete in supplying the inmates with drugs,
where the guards use the inmates as sextoys, and where black inmates led
by the Duchess (Tamara Dobson) and the white inmates led by Ericka (Sybil
Danning) constantly clash - and somehow the situation escalates to a point
where Carol is raped by the warden himself.
Carol's best friend Val (Sharon Hughes) promises to have her revenge on
the warden, so she, knowing he always tapes his (sex-)sessions with
his inmates, seduces him and plans to then get her hands on the tape to
create a scandal. But while she and the warden are at it, chief Taylor and
her right-hand-woman guard Boots (Kendal Kaldwell) enter the scene and
kill the warden, then drag Val away to kill her too somewhere in the
prison's corridors - but Carol finds her and Val tells Carol everything
with her dieing breath.
As the whole incident is investigated by commissioner Kaufman (Nita
Talbot), chief Taylor and her drug supplier Lester (Henry Silva) decide to
pin the whole thing on Ericka, exactly the woman who organized the whole
drugpushing scheme for them - but when everything seems lost for the
girls, Carol comes up with a scheme to cause a riot during which Carol
would be able to steal the tape of the warden#s death from the warden's
room and somehow get it to commissioner Kaufman, a plan for which even
Ericka and teh Duchess join forces and which leads to massive fighting and
chasing all through the prison, which neither Boots nor Ericka survive,
but at the end of which chief Taylor and Carol go one on one - with the
result of Carol being able to push the chief from the prison wall.
Sleaze as sleaze can. Apart of me just can't help to love this film,
si9mply for its totally sleazy story and its (intentional) lack of
redeeming values or a moral of its story. Rather than that the film is
just a feeble excuse to show naked women, violence and of course
catfights. That said, the film is far from perfect in its sleaziness,
actually it's not especially explicit and at times takes the only hinting
at things even a bit too far, plus Linda Blair (who has a topless scene in
this one) just doesn't go along too greatly with the sleaze while not
being a good enough actress to impress anyways. That said the film is
still good fun thanks to Sybil Danning at her bitchiest, Tamara Dobson,
Sheila Stevens, John Vernon at his sleaziest and Henry Silva. Not a
classic, but as I said, good fun.
