There's a man (Butch) who loves to abduct women to torture and kill
them. And he does especially not take kindly to those who offer him sex in
exchange for letting them go.
There's a woman (Ayano) who enjoys being picked up by strangers and
taken back to their place for you-know-what ... to brutally kill them.
Now according to the logic of such stories, it's inevitable for these
two to meet one another - and of course, neither of them comes unarmed,
and either more than happy to hurt the other ... but in doing so, they
find out how much they actually do have in common - which goes far beyond
their mere predilection to hurt and kill other people ...
Now this is definitely not a film for everyone, it's very violent, and
very explicit in its violence, and let's be frank, it's bluntness in
approach along with a really crazy twist in the end give away it's
Japanese origin - but these are exactly the points that make Brutal
so charming for genre audiences, it's bizarre and unapologetic, gory and
direct, so pretty much a nightmare of a movie ... which at least to me
sounds like a pretty great formula to a good horror flick!
