Soon, they are also witnesses of tentacled trees attacking people & virgin sacrifices to an evil monster, & the island's local scientist Mario Montenegro, residing in a villy high above the natives' village, doesn't seem all that innocent either. And when the natives decide to sacrifice Eva Darren, the girl John Ashley has fallen for, he decides to fight back, & can actually free Darren from the clutches of the monster ... but at the price that now not only the monster but also the natives are after them. When Ahsley brings Darren to Mario Montenegro's residence though, little does he know that the very same man does turn , unbeknowest to himself, into the monster at night due to atomic radiation. Ashley & Darren now have to escape him, & after a wild chase through a forest of tentacled trees, Ashley convinces the natives to take their fate into their own hands, so they throw burning torches at the monster (burning torches almost always help against monsters - just a reminder, if you're ever in need), finally killing it in a burning shack, where it turns back to its human form. <p> </p> <p>Yet another one of these filippino trash-gems. Dumb story, bad effects, a silly monster & mediocre actors aside, the movie manages to uphold a creepy atmosphere throughout not too often found in movies of its kind.
