- Gory Story: Brewster (Roger LeBlanc) is literally possessed
by the hook he has for a hand ever since he has cut off his actual
hand to - well, he wanted to teach his ex-girlfriend (Savannah
Nightingale) a lesson, it just didn't work out all that great. And now
his hook orders Brewster to kill - but unfortunately, Brewster's not
entirely unclumsy, so at times he ends up on the wrong side of
inflicting pain ...
- Attack of Conscience: Julie just can't die ... even if her
fiancé (Donovan Cerminara) isn't missing a single opportunity to try
and kill her.
- The Night Hag: Sam (Caroline Buzanko) has never grown quite
uneasy about the house she and her family moved into ... and she's
quite right to feel a bit worried, as there's something living in the
walls - and that something (Sarah-Joy Goode) loves to eat humans ...
- GOREgeous: Gordo (Stuart Bentley) is the manager of an all-girl rockband - but
frankly, he's not very good at it, which is why he is fired
eventually. Thing is, everytime Gordo cuts himself, he gets into a
blood frenzy and is destined to kill. And the girl from the band are
on top of his list right now ...
Now admittedly, BloodMania is probably not Herschell Gordon Lewis'
greatest film, basically because the uniqueness of his gore flicks is only
very hard to reproduce nowadays. But that said, this little anthology is
at the same time a perfect farewell movie for the man who has become known
as the "Godfather of Gore", as it doesn't just focus on the gore
content of his filmmaking ways but also on the comic aspects, the
over-the-top ideas, and the occasional nonsense moments. And while gore
movies as such might be a dime a dozen these days, only few are as much
fun to watch (in a party movie sort of way) as this one.
