Something doesn't seem quite right, but since the rain's pelting down she decides to not stop but drive right home. The next day she learns that the driver of the car, Jane (Sally Blouet) was murdered at just about the time Cass passed. From here on Cass thinks the killer, whoever it was, is after her, and several times she has the feeling she's attacked - but thing is, she only has the feeling, nothing's ever really provable. And while her friend Rachel (Maggie Grace) supports her the best she can, her husband Matthew (Dermot Mulroney) soon thinks she's suffering from dementia, the same as her mother did, especially since she's forgetting things seemingly every step along the way. This seems to be only confirmed by episodes of self-harm and suicidal behaviour. What's worse yet, PC Lawson (Natalie Simpson), the detective on the case, hasn't ruled her out as murder suspect. But the truth is much darker than any of this ... <p> <p>So ok, at times this film tries a little too much and becomes a tad over-convoluted towards the end - but at the same time one can't deny that this is a very effective thriller, one with many a suspense scene and jump scare, and yet one that also is heavy on atmosphere - also taking perfect advantage of the English countryside for that end for sure.
