In the aftermath of last
episode's carnage, Ash (Bruce Campbell) leaves Pablo (Ray
Santiago) and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) alone in his trailer with the
Necronomicon - and then Kelly takes off with the book, believing she needs
it to save her father (Phil Peleton) from her undead mother (Mimi Rogers).
Ash and Pablo go into wild pursuit, only when breaking in Kelly's parents'
door to find the family happily reunited, and what's more, Kelly's mother
turns out to be a really nice woman who invites Ash and Pablo for dinenr -
a dinner that goes rather well despite the strained atmosphere ... until
Ash knocks out Kelly's mother without provocation. Everybody is shocked,
but then Kelly's mom gets up again and turns out to be a deadite - and the
carnage begins anew ... What can one say, it's fun, Evil
Dead-style, with the blood and the oneliners flowing freely, with
Bruce Campbell at his wisecracking, fallible best, and just the right
balance between carnage and comedy. Now sure, it doesn't feel quite as
fresh anymore as it did with the original
trilogy from quite a few moons ago, but it's still wildly
amusing.
