Greg (Oliver Midson) has probably done the same short distance between
the parking garage and his apartment hundreds of times, but only today
he's got the feeling he's being followed - and it's not just an abstract
feeling, it's also manifested in the many weird text messages he gets from
a person unknown worried that he might not make it home ... Answer
Your Phone is pretty much five minutes of intense suspense cinema of
the horror variety: There's no real backstory to what's happening on
screen, Greg doesn't have any more character traits than what's
indispensable for the story, and the narrative never deviates from its
sole raison d'être - which is giving the audience a jolly good feeling of
unease ... and that's what the film's really good at, as it uses all the
techniques filmmaking has to offer to create a creepy atmosphere, and to
transmit the main character's feelings to the audience - making this an
enjoyably tense watch in the process.
