Margaret (Sofe Cote) has died under mysterious circumstances, and now
her best Brigitta (Amanda Flowers), Bermuda (Mickala McFarlane) and
Sentinel (Sara Kaiser) are totally devastated, also because they feel
thee's something not quite right bout Margaret's death. At the wake that's
held at Ms Ernie's (Selena Mars) boarding house they're all staying at,
FBI agent Denton (Jurgen Azazel Munster) shows up, presumably to just ask
a few questions, but he soon turns out to be a major nuisance. Plus his
methods become ever more unorthodox and soon border the unlawful, like
when he first as good as forces Ms Ernie to provide him with a room, then
tries to break into rooms he has been denied access too, despite not
having a warrant or anything. Eventually, he finds a book among dead
Margaret's things that might suggest she's not exactly dead but in another
dimension ... In the meantime, Margaret's friends start to see Margaret
walking the streets with increasing frequency, but never manage to quite
get hold of her. Ultimately, all involved come to the conclusion that in
order to solve the mystery surrounding Margaret's death and recurrence, a
séance is to be held - but while nobody has known what to expect in the
first place, the unexpected still happens ... Amityville:
Vanishing Point is so far young director Dylan Greenberg's narratively
most stringent film, and the one that's most clearly defined by genre
conventions - but that said, fortunately Amityville: Vanishing Point
is still far from being a formula movie, it follows the same often
dreamlike logic as Greenberg's earlier movies, it frequently goes
over-the-top or drifts off into unexpected directions, and if one wants to
compare it to anything, it should probably be called the rabid sibling of Twin
Peaks. And the film's also lots of fun, furnished with plenty of
off-beat humour, action, an interesting and eclectic musical score, sexy
bits and some hilarious performances. Definitely worth a look! If
this has gotten you at all interested, Amityville: Vanishing Point is
