All four lesbian Goths (Carlee Baker, Eryn Joslyn, Eve Mauro, Robin
Sydney) were planning to do was spend a few days at a far out cabin by a
lake to ... to be nude a lot I guess. Then though a family of retards (Will
Keenan, Frank Birney, Justin Stone, Marc Senter) pays them a visit - and it
becomes clear very early on that they don't have the best intentions -
especially when they tie the girls up and start to flog and humiliate
them. Then they even try to rape them - but this is when the clock strikes
midnight, and suddenly the girls are no longer helpless victims but
supernatural immortal cannibalistic beings, who soon turn the tables on
their attackers and torture and kill them, as well as a hillbilly who just
stops by. Enter two cops (Michael Esparza, Tim Thomerson) though, who have
been tracking them down for quite some time, and who actually manage to
kill three of the four girls - but then another hillbilly stops by, and
not knowing what's going on, he helps the damsel-in-distress (= the last
surviving girl) and shoots
the cops. And the girl thanks him by slaughtering him to use his
blood to bring her friends back to life ... Part House
on the Edge of the Park-rip off, part torture porn, part horror
comedy, part softcore erotica - and if you think this doesn't make a
terribly good mix, you are of course right, Wicked Lake is a
film that's lost somewhere between its many different aspirations, and it
doesn't make too much effort to find itself again. No really likeable
characters, acting ranging from competent to bad, and an unimaginative
directorial effort don't help either of course. The best thing to say
about this is probably that the girls all look really nice, and they all
do topless nudity. That's not much, but it's better than nothing.
