Peter (Sean Carmichael) has served in the army overseas but since had
difficulties re-adapting to civilian life, so he drifts from place to
place, as if he was on the run from something, and builds a wall against
all who try to befriend him ... Abby (Kristi Ray) is a waitress in a
diner in a one-horse-town, and all she wants to do is to get out as soon
as possible. She takes an instant liking to Peter who's just drifting
through to visit army buddy Sam (Damian Maffei), apparently he's the only
one who can help Peter with whatever's bugging him. But unbeknownst to
Peter, Sam is already dead, he killed himself. And that's what really gets
Peter off the ledge, as it's not just PTS he's suffering from but
something way worse ... A nice little genre tale that puts its
emphasis on characters rather than spectacle, and on telling an
interesting story in an unusual way, with the gory scenes (and there are a
couple) being nothing more than seasoning to an already very involving
movie. And thanks to very solid performances and a subtle directorial
effort, the movie works like a charm, too.
