Dr. Price (Ashley Maure) is working in a fertility clinic that promises
to get even "hopeless cases" pregnant with special medication
not yet approved by the FDA - but that said, all the test results gathered
in the clinic from its patients are more than promising, showing not only
the medication to work but also early brain development in the unborns.
Then she receives a text from a blocked number telling her "You have
a visitor", but receives no response when she asks who's on the other
end. Weirdly enough, she receives the same text again in the evening when
she tries to relax with some wine, and gets somewhat weirded out, as it
could be a stalker, a religious nutter trying to punish her for
"playing God", an obnoxious prankster, or maybe ... well, she'll
never guess who it really is ... Visitor is a quite
clever little film as it leaves the audience totally in the dark what it's
about to the very end, and even then the ending is open to interpretation,
even if the story comes full circle. But it's keeping the audience
guessing is what makes the film fascinating while a directorial effort
that creates suspense out of very little, and a compelling central
performance really make the film work.
