Angelo (Tony Travis), a young big city doctor, can't understand why his
father, a country physician, won't retire ... until he, during a visit to
his father, has to fill in for him - but when he wants to do an emergency
surgery on a little girl about to die, the locals won't let him until they
have heard the opinion of the real Doctor, Angelo's father, who,
due to a storm, is very unlikely to come. But then, out of the blue, he
stops by, tells the locals that the surgery is really necessary and is to
be performed by his son - and finally, Angelo can save the girl's life. When
Angelo comes back to his father's place though he learns that the old man
never left the house, never assisted him, it must have been a ghost or
something (even if the old man hasn't died in the least) - which changes
his opinion about his father and about his father's country practice, and
in the end, he becomes a country doctor himself. Cheesy
pseudo-ghost story with a very disappointing ending and - given the
series' premise - no horror elements whatsoever. Possibly the worst
episode of The Veil.
