Originally, Jed (Brian) just wanted to go camping with his girlfriend
Andrea (Potts), his friends Tyler (Landers), Gavin (Groves) and Griffin
(Groves, and Griffin's girlfriend Haidee (Corona). But then they learn
about a brutal murder in a supposedly haunted house only a stonethrow away
from their projected camping spot - and while Griffin wants to immediately
bail, fearing the killer's still around (even if there's nothing that
would suggest this), Tyler and Gavin get pretty drunk, and when they're
drunk they're also a bit obnoxious - and before you know it, they've
tricked their friends into breaking into the murder house. Thing is,
Griffin was right, the murderer is still around, and he's not done killing
yet ...
Unlisted Owner might not be breaking new ground, but
it's cool entertainment for what it is, a blend of slasher and found
footage movie that's pretty good at building tension, and once the killing
starts it delivers on its promise, there's plenty of blood, with effective
suspense scenes and jump scares at all the right moments. Maybe bit the
re-invention of the wheel, but horror fans won't be disappointed.
