The two boys were best friends all through high school, doing pretty
much everything together ... but when one of them brings a couple of new
guys into the mix, something is broken, especially since the other doesn't
really get along with the new guys. The new guys of course mean party,
pre-legal age beer-drinking and stuff for one of the friends, the other
reminisces about the good old days, not willing to let go - until disaster
strikes ... Tumble is a touching little film that is
about friendship and the loss of friends as much as it is about growing up
and letting go (or the refusal to do so). And while the imagery of the
film isn't always clichée-free, it's rather remarkable to see how
effortlessly the film manages to tell its story without the use of
dialogue and on-screen sound, merely through atmosphere in both pictures
and music. A really enjoyable little film.
