After a night of heavy drinking, Trevor (Niko Soroko) and his best friend
Sean (Alexander Aguirre) meet at their favourite bar, with Trevorf in high
spirits. Sean on the other hand is different today, and eventually claims
Trevor has sexually assaulted him the other night - which Trevor can't
believably argue against as he has suffered a massive memory loss due to
all the alcohol, and maybe one of his drinks was drugged even. Fact is,
this is not something Trevor would normally do - and yet it has happened,
so how will the two friends deal with this? Above all,
Trevor Hurt Someone is an actors' movie, as the film contains
little but dialogue, but this dialogue is pretty much an emotional
rollercoaster. Fortunately the two leads of this short are more than up
for the task and give nuanced and relatable performances, while the
suitably subtle directorial effort gives them all the space to breathe
life into their characterrs. Due to its subject matter, this is still not
an easy film to watch for everybody, but a whorthwhile and
thought-provoking experience.
