It was only a few days ago that Erica (Abby Summers) killed herself at one of Jess's (Savannah Matlow) sleepovers - but that doesn't keep Jess from having another sleepover almost right away, with all her best friends (Nikole Howell, Lindsay Lamb, Courtney Rood, Danika Galindo, Yasmine Soofi) invited ... and even if this is supposed to be a girls only sleepover, Jess's sister's (Simone Wasserman) boyfriend (Andrew Phillips) can't be dissuaded from staying as well, and trying to get pretty much into every girl's panties (with varying success). Now all these girls are still in high school, aged around 17, and rather great to look at, so of course the whole thing involves quite a bit of alcohol and not quite legal drugs, girls in underwear, games like truth or dare, a bit of make-out between some of the girls, nipple flashes ... and two losers (Lonnie Alcide Gardner, Nick Sinise) peeping in through the window in hope to catch some sexy action ...

But there's another side to the story: History teacher Anderson (Bruce Kade) just got fired from his job, basically for making some improper remarks about some of Jess's photos on her Facebook profile. Not that Jess would have minded because she has a secret crush on Mr Anderson, but still, it's a good enough reason to fire a teacher. It's just, Mr Anderson doesn't take it too well, and he kills the Dean (Art Roberts) right after being let go. But the center of his attention is Jess, and he just happens to know where she lives and that she holds a sleepover this night ... so without anyone noticing at first, the number of invited and uninvited guests starts to shrink ...

Genre fave Dawna Lee Heising plays Jess's mum, who plays a big part in the film's final punchline.

Quite obviously, Teachers' Day was inspired quite a bit by yesteryear's slasher movies, there's a certain light-footedness to this one mostly absent from today's fare (as long as they're not actual comedies or parodies), as well as an innocent sexiness that's again lacking in more recent films - and these are the things that really make this movie: So it's silly and formulaic alright, but it's obvious everybody involved had funm and the fun is infectuous. And while most of the girls in the movie might lack in depth a bit, they are cute without trying to be supermodels, have good lines and know how to deliver them and come across as a likeable bunch. And on a narrative front, the movie really succeeds in keeping both the suspense but also the fun high by for the longest time rather successfully just keeping the girls from even beginning to grasp what's going on.

Good fun, really!
