Jim (Josepj Graham) was never a good, maybe not even decent father, which
also has to do with his temperament, which is probably why his wife
(Lindsay Gustin) divorced him. However, when he receivs a note that his
daughter's life might be in danger, he stops at nothing to save her - even
though her mum insists she isn't in any danger. Stopping at nothing means
he pretends to be a police detective, breaks into a stranger's home and
holds him and his girlfriend at gunpoint. The stranger though is likeable
slacker Glenn (John Wessling) and his "girlfriend" is merely a woman, Jane
(Amy Anderson), who wanted to buy a Japanese suicide knife off of him, two
people who appear harmless as heck. And yet, even they manage to overpower
gun carrying Jim and turn the tables on him. Of course, once they've tied
him up they have no idea what to do with him, after all they have no
desire to do him harm - but also have no desire for him to do them harm. A
messed up situation that only gets worse when it's found out there's a
time corridor under Glenn's sink, and it mght have to do more than a bit
with the mess that's been happening ... Rapper Fat Tony plays Glenn's
mysterious neighbour who might have to do more with the mess than anybody
even figures. Now this is a film that has definitely done on a very
modest budget, but writer/director Justin Petty has turned ths into the
film's strength rather than weakness. And now sure, the few effects in the
film are basic (if by no means bad), but that only makes one concentrate
more on the film's plot, and that's where Someone Dies!
realoly comes into its own, the story's quirky and takes many unexpected
turns, the dialogue's witty, and the characters are well-fleshed out and
relatable but also much fun. So in all, pretty awesome indie
entertainment!
